The meeting was also attended by representatives of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Health Organization (WHO) and international Codex secretary, Mr. Yongxiang Fan, National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment chaired the meeting.
The Vietnamese delegation had 10 delegates attending the meeting, led by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Ha, Deputy Director of Vietnam Codex Office (Food Safety Department); Mr. Vu Ngoc Quynh, Director of Vietnam Codex Technical Department on Food Additives, Technical Center 3 (Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality) and some food enterprises.

At the meeting, the delegates agreed to approve the agenda. Accordingly, on the first working day, there were 3 working groups established: The working group on the prioritization review of proposed food additives to be audited by JECFA; Working group on review / amendment of international index (INS) for food additives; The working group harmonized the terms for Food Additives in Codex standards for products with the terms of Food Additives in the Codex General Standard (GSFA).
Also at the meeting, delegates also focused on discussing 4 contents and agreed to stop the construction of definitions for the terms "plain", "fresh", "untreated", "unprocessed".
Regarding collecting information on using nitrate, nitrite in food, Mr. Yongxiang Fan proposed international Codex secretary to send a letter for asking to collect information of the two additives to exchange, discuss in the 52th session of CCFA.
