In the morning of 24th April, 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) had a meeting with businesses related to livestock sector to discuss “rescue“ solutions for farmers, as the price of live pigs has dropped to a record low and there is no sign of recovery, causing major losses for farmers across the country.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has called out to businesses related to livestock sector to take actions in order to help farmers overcome a difficult time.
In response to Minister’s calls, VinaCert Certification and Inspection Joint Stock Company (VinaCert) has promptly developed some practical policies as well as solutions to support pig farmers.
Specifically, for any VinaCert’s customer that responds to the Minister’s calls in reducing animal feed price for farmers, VinaCert’s fees on surveillance audit testing will be free for 1 year for all certified products by VinaCert.
On the other hand, VinaCert will reduce 20 percent of VietGAP certification fee for livestock farms, from 15 million dong per farm to 12 million dong per farm.
VinaCert will make an effort in developing new solutions to share the burden with farmers and contribute to tackle the problems of livestock industry.
