Fisheries farms belong to the project program to support the application and implementation of VietGAP for breeding shrimp in 2018 of Soc Trang Province ‘s Fisheries Department certified VietGAP by VinaCert .
Hoa Tu 2 clean shrimp cooperative (Hoa Tu 2 commune, My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province) currently has 16 members, involved in breeding tiger prawn and white leg shrimp on a total area of 36 hectares. These aquaculture areas have been audited and certified by VinaCert auditors in accordance with the requirements of Good Aquaculture Practices of Vietnam (VietGAP- Issued with Decision No. 3824 / QD-BNN -TCTS). VietGAP Certificate -TS-13-08-94-003.
Hoa Tu 2 Clean Shrimp Cooperative 2 currently applies the process of breeding commercial tiger prawn and white leg shrimp according to VietGAP to produce food safety products. The outstanding advantage of this breeding process is to achieve food safety and hygiene shrimps due to not using antibiotics and chemicals so its environment is safe and stable; reducing risks, increasing productivity and quality, so shrimp breeding farmers always earn higher incomes.
In order to apply the VietGAP process, the Department of Fisheries in Soc Trong province the cooperative by throughing training courses on breeding techniques and process according to VietGAP, and support the pond environment test kits; tables; setting up a record book of breeding prcess, guiding water testing techniques, ...
Chien Thang Cooperative Group (Nam Can hamlet, Vinh Tan commune, Vinh Chau town) currently has 20 members, cultivating tiger prawns and white leg shrimps on an area of 25.14 ha, with its yield is about 65 tons / year.
According to auditor Le Thuong Khoi, the Cooperative Group has applied and effectively implemented the VietGAP process for breeding in accordance with the requirements of Decision 3824 / QD-BNN-TCTS and the scope of certification. The cooperative has applied advanced technicques to improve productivity, quality and reputation for local seafood, especially tiger prawns and white leg shrimps.
In addition, the cooperative has also implemented the technical process of production from soil preparation, care, management to harvesting to form a reasonable production chain, saving costs and protecting environment, creating safe and quality products.
In the process of applying VietGAP, the Cooperative Group has also supported by Soc Trang Provincial Department of Fisheries on training breeding techniques, breeding process according to VietGAP, etc.
