Tien Giang Livestock Breeding Company (Address: 157 Le Thi Hong Gam Street, Ward 6, My Tho city, Tien Giang province) was officially established in 2010. The company’s main business are cattle, poultry and aquaculture animal feed production; buffalo, cow, pig, poultry farming; meat and meat products processing; seafood and aquatic products processing and preserving, etc. Particularly in pig farming business, the company has a housing area of nearly 10.000 m2, with an output of 3.500 market hogs per year and 11.000 piglets per year.
In order to meet customer demand and increase the chance to expand its market, the company has applied good agricultural practice for pig farming at Livestock Establishment 30/4 (An Cu commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province).
The company has trusted VinaCert to conduct certification of conformity so as to demonstrate that their livestock processes are in accordance with the requirement in Decision 4653/QĐ-BNN-CN dated 10th November 2015 by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Based on the scope of certification, in the early April 2017, VinaCert's audit team, including Mr. Trinh Xuan Thanh, Lead auditor and Mr. Chu Duc Tuy, Technical auditor, arrived at the company’s farming site to audit and decide whether the company’s livestock processes has been in compliance with the requirement of good agricultural practice for pig production.
Welcoming and working with the audit team were Mr. Dang Minh Phuoc - Deputy Director, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hien - Director of the Establishment, Mr. Le Trung Nhon - Deputy Director of the Establishment, Mr. Tran Huu Hieu – Veterinary technical employee and Mr. Pham Minh Tai – Employee.
After the sensory assessment of housing area, retrieving document and interviewing responsible individuals, the audit team gathered enough evidences to make some comments. About the quality control activity under VietGAP, the establishment has maintained a sufficient amount of supervising records and strictly monitored the herd according to product traceability requirements. The size of crates for market hogs and piglets are in suitable design for the pigs’ species and developing stages.

In the interview with the audit team, Mr. Le Trung Nhon - Deputy Director of the Establishment, said, “The benefit of applying and maintaining good livestock practice for pig production has been disseminated to all responsible individuals and employees by the Board of Directors. In order to have high-quality, VietGAP qualified pork, all breeding stock of the establishment was supplied by France Hybrides Vietnam with a complete origin profile for each individual.
According to Mr. Nhon, along with a closed farming approach from breeding stock to market hogs, the establishment only used the complete compound feed by Tien Giang Livestock Breeding Company. These products have been tested and certified by VinaCert so the traceability is ensured.

To determine the residues level of prohibited substances such as Salbutamol, Clenbuterol, and Ractopamine in livestock, Mr. Trinh Xuan Thanh took pigs urine samples to do quick tests, which were all negative.

This was one of the important evidences for Mr. Trinh Xuan Thanh to conclude the audit. He said, “The company has applied and implemented good agricultural practice processes under VietGAP standard for market hogs and piglets farming, pursuant the audit criteria of VietGAP in Decision 4653/QĐ-BNN-CN dated 10th November 2015 by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Based on the audit results and recommendations of the audit team, on 13th April 2017, Mrs. Dang Thi Huong, Certification Director of VinaCert signed Decision No. 939/QĐ-VICB on the issuance of VietGAP certificate for Livestock Establishment 30/4 of Tien Giang Livestock Breeding Company.
