Veterinary medicine is substances or compounds originated from animals, plants, microorganisms, minerals, chemicals that are used to prevent, diagnose, cure or to recover, adjust, improve the functions of the animal body, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, vaccines, hormones, some other biological products and some microorganisms in veterinary.
To control the residues of veterinary medicine in foods, on 14 August, 2013, the Ministry of Health issued Circular No. 24/2013/TT-BYT - "Regulation of the maximum veterinary medicine residues in domestically produced foods and import foods, applied for organizations and individuals manufacturing, preprocessing, processing, trading and importing foods.”
Accordingly, 59 main active substances of veterinary medicine for meat and viscera are identified in details in the Circular 24/2013/TT-BYT with the allowed MRL (in micrograms/kilogram) and ADI – the daily consumption level that can be accepted (in microgram/kilogram per day).
In this article, FSI will cover the veterinary medicine MRL in pork and pig’s viscera so that manufacturing and trading organizations/enterprises can lookup in a most convenient way.
